|
M.H. Khaleelullah, a young cartoonist and calligraphist from Kerala is currently on a visit of the UAE. During his stay, he plans to meet local calligraphists and officials of cultural organizations to exchange views and update his knowledge about the art of calligraphy in the Arabic countries. Mr Khaleelullah has been working for various publications in kerala, as a freelance cartoonist, calligraphist and journalist since 1988. He started his career while in school and has earned 11 awards from different institutions and Kerala Cartoon Academy. He has also won Abu Dhabi based Muslim Writers Forum Award last year. In 1986, His caricatures and calligraphic work got wide attention, when they where displayed at an exhibition held in Bangalore for an Islamic Organisation’s national conference.
Even though he does not have a good knowledge of Arabic, his work in
Arabic speaks for itself, which is hallmark of his service rendered
to Islamic calligraphy and to this profession. |
